Focus

GUP started as a raid group for Gruul's Lair and Magtheradon in TBC. After patch 3.0.0, we killed a handful of bosses on Mt Hyjal and in the Black Temple. With the introduction of WotLK, we have decided to concentrate with 25-man Heroic Naxxramas to gear up members for further 25-man raids in Northrend.

The typical GUP participant has good sense of humor, likes an eclectic soundtrack for raiding, and prefers an organized but low-stress approach to raiding.

Raid Times

The normal start time for our weekly raid is Friday at 23:00 and Sunday at 19:00 (server time). Raid invites and summons start at 22:45, punctuality is appreciated. Due to the nature of Naxxramas, we are currently discussing a twice-a-week schedule. Watch the forums for developments.

Participation

- Reservations will be done through the In-Game Calendar Invite system.

- Preference will be given to members who have attended previous runs and reserve a slot in a timely fashion.

- If members who reserve a slot are not available for the run then their slot will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Loot Rules

Looting will be set to Master Looter and rolling will be restricted to the class guidelines given by WoW Loot. If a piece of loot drops that can benefit your class and spec you will receive priority as per the site. If there are multiple classes or individuals that can use a piece a gear then a loot roll will be done with the piece going to the highest roll.

Alternates and primary raid team members in the raid run have an equal chance to roll on loot.

We ask that you do not roll on another piece of loot for the rest of the run, this will allow for the opportunity to gear up a larger pool of people. This rule of course goes out the window if you are the only class available that can use a piece of loot even if you have already rolled and won.

Etiquette

We have a few rules at the moment, more will be amended based upon group member needs...

PUNCTUALITY

- Since we will start and stop on time, this is essential. We completely understand unexpected personal life conflicts, but always keep in mind you have 9 other people counting on you who are also working professionals, parents, or students as well who have scheduled a time for raiding within their busy schedules.

BOSS FIGHTS

- We will be doing a lot of joking around during down time and trash mobs, but during boss fights talking will be kept to a minimum and only boss fight related matters will be discussed.

- We have found the most often overlooked keys to boss fights are concentration and calm, and with this rule we hope to down bosses easier (which is fun for everyone).

Add-ons

We highly recommend the following add-ons.
