The AIEGC Community Blog

The Alea Iacta Est Gaming Community (AIEGC) website hosts a Community Blog that posts news articles on every game division that Alea Iacta Est is in. The articles posted on the website are written by the community, for the community.

Article Submission FAQs

If you ever thought about submitting an article for the website, here are the answers to some common questions.

What are these guidelines used for?

These guidelines are used to set a standard for articles written and posted to the Alea Iacta Est Gaming Community (AIEGC) website.

Who can write articles for the website?

Anyone in good standing in the AIEGC can write and submit an article to be posted on the website.

How do I get my article posted?

Someone on the editorial staff has to proofread and approve any post submitted for the website. If you have appropriate access on the website (Wordpress), you can write your article there and save it as “Pending Review”. If not, you can submit your article to the editors via email.

Is there a standard format that my article has to be written in?

While there is not a specific format requirement, there is a list of Style Guide Policies, and the editorial staff will be checking the article against them. You can find the Style Guide Policies below.

I submitted an article today, but I don’t see it posted yet. Why?

The editorial staff has to manually go through every article submitted and check them for Style Guide Policies, punctuation, grammar, etc. The editorial staff may make minor changes to correct for these things; however, if there are any major changes, the editorial staff will send the article back to you for revision.

I submitted an article yesterday, and I’m an English major, so I know everything was correct and that I followed the Style Guide Policies. Why hasn't my article been posted?

The editorial staff’s job is to not only check articles for basic errors, but to also control the flow of information that is posted. If you wrote an article on EVE, and the last two posts were about EVE, then the editors may hold onto your article for a few days to post another article on a different topic/game first. Don’t worry if you don’t see your article right away. If your article never posts and you have not heard from the editorial staff, please check in with them in the #lfo channel in Discord.

Style Guide Policies

The following policies are in place to ensure the quality and content of articles submitted for the website blog. If after reading these policies you are unsure as to whether you can write an article about a particular topic that you have in mind, please send the editors an email. There are two types of articles, the AIEGC Posts and Personal Posts.

The AIEGC Posts Guide

These posts are for game news, patch updates, meet-ups, in-game events, etc.

    • If someone discovers your article contains plagiarism, the editors will issue a retraction immediately.
