We encourage the donation of items or materials, or gold equal in value to what you are withdrawing. However, no one should refrain from withdrawing items from the bank because they do not yet have items to donate. Many of our members have started off with literally no gold on this server, and once they were comfortably established, have become great contributors to AIE. We want to help everyone become established!
Use of the guild bank is a privilege of those of COHORT rank (and higher) in the guild. PLEBS cannot withdraw directly from the guild bank, but can deposit to the first four tabs. PLEBS may request items from an officer.
Cohorts have deposit and withdrawal access to the first four tabs. Each tab is subject to a limit of five withdrawals per day. Cohorts may deposit into the fifth tab.

All guild members can donate gold to the guild bank.  This will be used for future purchases to benefit the guild (for example, if/when Blizzard implements guild housing). Because of the size of our guild and the problems that might ensue, AIE has no plans to institute a policy of using guild bank gold for repairs or for member withdrawals at this time.
The sixth tab will be accessed by officers only. It and the fifth tab will be for valuable equipment and materials available by request from an officer.

Plebs cannot withdraw from the guild bank. They can request items from those of Officer rank only (Centurions, Praetorians, Imperator). It is not ok to obtain items from the guild bank from a non-officer guild member.
AIE does not require or encourage in-kind donation of goods or gold for withdrawals from the guild bank. It is expected that the guild member will make non-gold deposits during their time in AIE that will even out their "account", but that need not happen at the moment of withdrawal.

Cohorts can deposit and withdraw from the first and second tabs. Withdrawals are limited to five per day.
All items withdrawn from the guild vault are for use by the character withdrawing them. Withdrawals are-

Centurions and higher can deposit into all guild bank tabs, and may withdraw from all tabs.
-Not for one of your alts (log out and log on to your alt to withdraw on that character),

This means our most valuable items will be on the 4th, 5th, and 6th tabs and may not be immediately accessible if our highest level officers are not online. These items can be requested via in-game emails or tells to an officer or via officers@aie-guild.org.
-Not for a friend who might join the guild. Not for your child. Not for your spouse,

We ask that people consider the value of the item they are depositing, since the number of slots is extremely limited, especially for a guild of our size. Each slot costs close to 16g. Don't fill up slots with low level crafted items, or easily purchasable recipes.
-Not to be sold in the Auction House,

Materials and items taken from the bank are to be used to benefit the guild and not for personal profit. It is expected that armor and weapons withdrawn from the guild bank by cohorts will be equipped for use by that character. Withdrawing items to sell on the Auction House or to transfer to another character will be considered theft from the guild and grounds for an immediate removal from the guild. If you want to withdraw something for your alt which is also in AIE, please do so while logged in as that alt.
-Not for disenchant materials (even if the proposed enchant is for a guildmate)

Enchanting or crafting supplies from the guild bank should also be used for the benefit of the guild. Crafting or enchanting something for yourself or a guild member? Fine. Crafting or enchanting something for a non-guild member, charging someone for the enchant, or selling the crafting item? Not okay. That is using items from the guild bank for personal profit.
Armor, weapons, and materials withdrawn should be appropriate for level, skill, class, and profession (within reason). It is acceptable to take something a few levels ahead of where you currently are, or to withdraw a profession material which you intend to have a guildmate craft for you.

Periodically, an officer appointed to this task will go through the weapons and armor in the guild bank and disenchant the items which have been taking up inventory space for a considerable period of time. Those enchanting mats will be redeposited in the guild bank or used for events like the Craft Fair. As such, withdrawing items specifically to disenchant for mats is not allowed, regardless of the intended use of the mats.
If you see gear in the guild vault that is of extremely low usefullness, but would be better valued as disenchanted, please alert an officer to the name and tab of the item(s). Officers will periodically disenchant weapons and armor in the guild bank and deposit the resultant disenchants.

Please be aware that guild bank deposit and withdrawal logs are examined frequently by officers.
We the officers of AIE are asking all members to help "police" the guild bank log for questionable transactions as they see fit. Contact the guild officers at officers@aie-guild.org if you spot a gross transgression.

Officers strongly encourage cohorts of Alea Iacta Est (AIE) to use the guild bank often.

The sixth tab will be accessed by officers only. It and the fifth tab will be for valuable equipment and materials available by request from an officer.

AIE does not require or encourage in-kind donation of goods or gold for withdrawals from the guild bank. It is expected that the guild member will make non-gold deposits during their time in AIE that will even out their "account", but that need not happen at the moment of withdrawal.

All items withdrawn from the guild vault are for use by the character withdrawing them. Withdrawals are-

-Not for one of your alts (log out and log on to your alt to withdraw on that character),

-Not for a friend who might join the guild. Not for your child. Not for your spouse,

-Not to be sold in the Auction House,

-Not for disenchant materials (even if the proposed enchant is for a guildmate)

Armor, weapons, and materials withdrawn should be appropriate for level, skill, class, and profession (within reason). It is acceptable to take something a few levels ahead of where you currently are, or to withdraw a profession material which you intend to have a guildmate craft for you.

If you see gear in the guild vault that is of extremely low usefullness, but would be better valued as disenchanted, please alert an officer to the name and tab of the item(s). Officers will periodically disenchant weapons and armor in the guild bank and deposit the resultant disenchants.

We the officers of AIE are asking all members to help "police" the guild bank log for questionable transactions as they see fit. Contact the guild officers at officers@aie-guild.org if you spot a gross transgression.

We ask that people consider the value of the item they are depositing, since the number of slots is extremely limited, especially for a guild of our size. Each slot cost ~16g to purchase.

AIE is discouraging deposits of gold into the guild bank. It continues to pile up, and Blizzard seems to have no plans for additional in-game features for guilds which would require purchases. Given the size of our guild, using guild bank gold for member repairs or personal withdrawals is extraordinarily complicated and fraught with potential complication. We have used the guild bank gold in large events, but we'd prefer it not continue to accumulate.

Please use the guild vault! It is our hope that it will become more of a useful tool for paying-forward the help that we've all gotten in this guild.
