Description
(Character description to come)

History
Daelion is part of the new breed of the Horde. Born just before the Third War, and merely an infant during Silvermoon's fall to the Scourge; Daelion grew up not knowing the power of the Sunwell. Unhindered by the arcane thirst that left so many of his predecessors hamstrung, Daelion excelled at his studies and showed natural aptitude for Magic. He was quickly inducted into the finest schools of magic in Qual'Thalas.

Daelion, however, quickly grew bored. Classes did not move at his pace, and did not feature practical enough examples for his tasted. After only a year and a half of apprenticeship and study, he left the safety of Sunstrider Isle in search of a trial by fire.

Characteristics
Daelion is relatively quiet. Although he is very intelligent, it leads him to also be slightly arrogant. He currently appears to have a predilection for the Frost studies, but has shown some interest in the Fire and Arcane arts. Currently, he can be found flying about Northrend, honing his skill in the frost and fire arts.

Interactions with Other Characters
* Reinyan - Daelion once met the self-described "New Farstrider" in a tavern. For several hours, they told each other stories over drink. If they ever cross paths again, Daelion is reputed to owe Reinyan a drink and the story about why he left.
Reinyanhttps://wiki.aie-guild.org/index.php?title=User:Reinyan&diff=14109User:Reinyan2010-11-14T18:12:10Z
Reinyan: /* Characters */

Reinyan is a Blood Elf Hunter, prospective Farstrider, and Cohort of Alea Iacta Est

Character History
Reinyan was born in Silvermoon city, the son of a successful Bowyer and a Maid. During his childhood years, Reinyan spent much time in his father's shop, learning the secrets of his family's trade and hearing stories of the brave elves of the Farstriders. These stories helped to cement an affinity for the Farstriders, an affinity that was only bolstered by the opportunities to meet them in person (including the Ranger-General Sylvanas herself). In his later childhood, Reinyan vowed that he too would one day lead the great order for the glory of his people.

At the birthday of his ascension into manhood, Reinyan received 2 gifts from his father. The first, was a custom bow, crafted by his father especially for his height, arm span, and strength. The second gift was a lesson from an actual ranger of the Farstrider order, Ranger Sylar, a friend of the family. Sylar wished to instruct Reinyan in the proper usage of his bow, but before he would begin his instruction, he required Reinyan to make the following oath:

“The bow is an extension of the body. It does what is commanded of it; no more, no less. It is important to understand that, like knowledge and passion, this weapon carries with it the responsibility of patient, wise, and proper use. You must swear to me that you will use this only when needed, when absolutely needed, and with the respect it deserves.”

Reinyan went on to learn under Sylar for another half of a year, before the Scourge would make their way through Quel'Thalas, bound for the Sunwell. During the Scourge invasion, Reinyan's mother fled with him and his sister onboard elven ships, while Reinyan's father stayed to help defend Silvermoon along with the remaining elven forces. The elven boats sailed to the south, anchoring far off the coast of Khaz Modan and awaiting news from home. After several long weeks, the boats set sail for Quel'Thalas, not sure of what they would find.

Reinyan watched the next several years take turns he never thought his people would. Retaking Silvermoon City and Sunstrider Isle was difficult, and to their great horror, the Sunwell was lost. The Farstriders were almost shattered, due to large losses in the fight with the Scourge. The Alliance all but turned their back on the elves, eventually vilifying their leader and forcing him to flee through the Dark Portal. Once contact was reestablished, compromises began to take hold. The captured Naaru Mu'ru was brought into the city and tucking into a dark corner of the city. A new class of defenders, the Blood Knights, began appearing, carrying with them the foul stench of stolen magics.

Reinyan had seen enough. If his people would not lead themselves out of their own myopic panicked delusions and quick fixes, then he would have to. Unsure of where to start, Reinyan set out for the Farstrider enclave. At the Enclave, Reinyan spent a solid week reading the books and tapestries written by past members of the Farstriders. Finally understanding what he needed to do, he set off for Sunstrider Isle to train, and then set off to parts unknown.

One day he's vowed to return, to lead his people ahead into a new rebirth.

Guiding Philosophy
“Knowledge is the first step to true freedom, but carries with it the responsibility to balance its acquisition and exercise. With patience, we naturally learn that which we need to use; but with impatience, we learn too much. Nature can correct these oversights, but Nature’s lessons are seldom painless. So with that in mind, seek knowledge as your heart commands, but seek no more than you need to live, and you will always be in balance with the world around you.“

Connections to other Characters
* Denalian - Denalian has communicated with Reinyan on many occasions. Although Reinyan never knew Denalian in life (Reinyan is much younger), the two have learned much from each other on leadership and the prices it comes with.
* Raajin - Reinyan communicates frequently by letter to Raajin, whom he once met along the Gold Road in the Barrens. The two speak often of Balance, the true cost of one's actions, and the nature of true wisdom.
* Dushota - During his stays at Thunder Bluff, Reinyan got to know the Featherhoof clan. These simple but proud warriors of the Tauren came to symbolize a simpler life and set of values for Reinyan to learn from. The youngest of the Clan, Dushota, was in preparation to take his place as a contributing member of his tribe. Reinyan, as an honorary member of the family, is tasked with keeping watch over Dushota, and helping in whatever way possible with his growth... a task that Reinyan takes very seriously.

Pets
Throughout his travels, Reinyan has met, trained, and traveled with many animal companions. The following excerpts are from his journals, depicting the discovery and association of each animal companion.

Niblet
Niblet was a Springpaw Tiger I found in my native Eversong Woods. He had a lustrous coat of red hair with a bright yellow mane. In combat, be proved his worth, tearing to shreds any scourge or trolls he found. On the bridge to the place now referred to by my countrymen as The Ghostlands, he turned and looked back, as if sad. It was at that moment that I realized that he would never be happy anywhere else, so I released his collar and said my goodbye.

Nail
Nail was one of the Elder Springpaw of the Ghostlands, whom I saw walking too close to the Dead Scar one day. I was able to save him from certain doom at the hands of a scourge, and in return he followed me throughout my time there. I never felt such loyalty from an animal while at the same time feeling so distant. When I left the Ghostlands, after killing Dhar’Kan, I found that Nail had left as well, presumably to return to his home, his deed finished.

Boriel
Boriel was a Grey Bear that I found and befriended in the rolling farmlands of the Hillsbrad Foothills. We got along alright, him faithfully by my side, leading the charge, but in the end, we just weren’t right for each other. He used to make me laugh, with his perplexed expressions at the fish and cheese I’d give him. In the end, the idea that I’d be taking him inland, away from the rivers teeming with fish and away from the lands he’d known for so long, and so, again, I set him free.

Rosencrantz
In the forests of Ashenvale, I came across a white wolf that captivated me. I watched him prey on some of the local Shadowhorn Stag, and marveled at how well he maintained his superiority. It took a honorable fight which netted me several scars from his teeth and claws, but in the end, we became the best of friends. Now, some months later, he is my most loyal companion. In battle, he attacks with ferocity and fervor. That combination of confidence, wisdom, and ability help to remind me of my mission, so far from home.

Sadly, Rosencrantz was killed by two Owlbear in the Hinterlands. His body lies buried beneath one of the larger trees in that hilly forest, forever enriching the land around him with his indomitable spirit.

Fortinbras
Several weeks after Rosencrantz's death, I came across the ruined troll city of Jintha'Alor. Near the top of the city on the hill, I found that the trolls there had been caging black wolf pups, feeding them next to nothing, and forcing them to fight each other in savage battles while the trolls watched on and cheered in amusement. I waited until nightfall, when most of the troll guards were asleep, and under the cover of darkness, silently walked into town and "released the hounds". Needless to say, the pups did not spare their tormentors any measure of justice. In the end, one pup approached me, and after several minutes of intense staring and growling, submitted to me. I named him Fortinbras, and he traveled with me from then on.

Horatio
Throughout my travels in Outland, Fortinbras had been at my side. Now through all of that, and with the threat of Arthas and Northrend awaiting, I needed another companion. I stabled Fortinbras with the Mag'Har in Nagrand, and set out to old Azeroth to find a companion to help me in the frozen north. Somewhere north of Kargath, I spotted a beautiful black Bear. I stalked the bear and observed him closely for 2 days, watching his fishing patterns, leadership of the other bears, and even an unfortunate scuffle with a Trogg (unfortunate for the Trogg, not the bear). On my 3rd day of observation, I was surprised when he quickly zeroed in on me and attacked. I ran for higher ground, fearing for my life, when all of the sudden I heard a loud yelp and a bellowing moan of pain. I looked back to see my pursuer trapped in a Dwarven trap. Feeling that this was my chance, I slowly approached and worked to free the bear from its confines. The bear, now freed, looked deeply into my eyes, uttered a short roar, and licked my right cheek. I named him Horatio, the stalwart companion, and set off to the frozen north with him.

Currently, he can be found stomping around the jungles of Stranglethorn Vale, where he often loads up his pack in the morning, and does not return to camp until well after nightfall.

Interactions with Other Characters
* Reinyan - Daelion once met the self-described "New Farstrider" in a tavern. For several hours, they told each other stories over drink. If they ever cross paths again, Daelion is reputed to owe Reinyan a drink and the story about why he left.
Reinyanhttps://wiki.aie-guild.org/index.php?title=User:Reinyan&diff=10737User:Reinyan2010-03-26T15:55:12Z
Reinyan: /* Deleted Characters */

Raajin is a Darkspear Troll Priest, and Cohort of Alea Iacta Est

Description
(Coming soon...)

History
Raajin was born in the Echo Isles, in what is now known as Durotar, a child of the Darkspear tribe of Trolls. As a child, Raajin was born into already difficult circumstances. Warring troll tribes, frequent displacement, hunted for sport by humans, and the harshness of the Tribe's living conditions made childhood rough. Like most Darkspear adolescents, Raajin fell into early cynicism and violence. Along with other boys of his tribe, Raajin would often engage in hostile actions against other non-Darkspears including hunting animals, raiding camps, and murdering non-trolls.

During his later adolescent years, Raajin and some friends of his raided a nearby human settlement. Their infiltration of the camp, although not unnoticed, was unusually easy. Many of the humans who saw them, simply screamed and ran, without drawing a weapon or standing their ground. The trolls quickly stopped these fleeing humans and saw to slow painful, almost torturous deaths. The group had wound their way through camp, destroying tents and killing inhabitants until they came to a large stone building.

Quickly, the group made their way inside the building to find human men, not in armor, but in simple robes. Although the group took pause for a moment in an attempt to comprehend this unexpected turn of events, they quickly began rounding up and killing each of them for sport. The largest among them shouted to them in common, but they neither understood nor cared about his words. Raajin knocked him to the ground, and began savagely beating him against the stone floor. Bloodied and beaten, the man muttered something in common. Before gasping his last breath, a strange light shot from his finger, tossing Raajin back to the ground about a foot away.

Raajin's companions, hearing the loud crack of the strange light, turned and ran, afraid that some powerful mage had entered the fray. Raajin came to conciousness a few hours later, but realized something had changed... the book that lay on the floor next to him... made sense. The words, in common, made as much sense as any Orc or Troll word ever did. Raajin also noticed a dark feeling on his heart... a pain so intense, that words failed him.

For weeks, Raajin sat amongst the now ruined Monastery reading the human books on the Light, faith, and the destiny of sentient races. Through these books, he found a word to describe his pain... guilt. For the first time in his life, Raajin felt remorse for the things he'd done throughout his childhood. It was from that moment that Raajin pledged himself as a child of the Light, striving to do good deeds to help balance the scales against years of misdeeds.

Raajin now wanders the land looking for souls to help, in order to save his own. Although he is naturally inclined to the arts of the Shadow, he fights his nature and strives to be a child of the Holy Light, even rejecting the Loa beliefs of his people. Raajin is usually light-hearted, always seeking a joke, even in the most dire situation. In his belief, laughter keeps a soul from crying, and that, "...t'at be okay wit' Raajin".

Rededication to Discipline and the Holy Light
Somewhere along the way in Outlands, Raajin fell into a deep darkness. Months of fighting the undead of the Plaguelands, the Silithid of Silithus, and the tainted Furbolg of Felwood had turned him into a dark shadow of swift vengeance and justice. Without a thought, and without form, he descended into the role of Judge, Jury, and Executioner with little thought to the ramifications of his decisions. It was only after weeks of terrible nightmares and fighting other dark and descended souls, that Raajin was shaken into self-analyzation and meditation.

Within his meditation, he made himself a simple promise: rededicate himself to his true purpose, and give himself over freely to the light. For many days, in the temples of the Aldor Rise in Shattrath city, Raajin meditated and prayed for both forgiveness and help. He emerged from his days of seclusion broken, no longer remembering how to use the shadow that had enveloped him for so long. In its place, he found a new power... the power of the Light.

Connections with Other Characters
*Denalian - Through written communication, Denalian and Raajin have spoken over a wealth of topics, including personal responsibility, redemption, purpose, destiny, and the difficulties of doing the right thing versus doing the easy thing. In a roundabout way, although they come from different cultures and circumstances, the are kindred spirits.
*Dushota - Raajin has met and talked to Dushota at length. Usually the conversations are one-sided, with Raajin doing most of the talking, and Dushota inserting the odd point and otherwise thinking carefully. Raajin has said on some occasions that Dushota seems like the kind of person he should help, but he's not really sure. how, so for now, he just talks.

Character Quirks and Trivia
* Raajin often speaks of himself in the third person.
* Raajin often makes corny jokes, especially after healing or reviving a person, or when nothing is going on.
* Raajin has been known to keep human books on his person and read them during times of inaction, such as Zepplin rides.

Really, don't stand in . . .

Origins
Legend tells that the saying, "Don't Stand in the Stupid" dates back to the time of the Gurubashi Empire. It was first found carved into a tablet held by a dead troll surrounded by a pool of fire. It was unfortunately lost for a time, however, when the discoverer of the tablet died in the same pool of fire. It has since been passed on through oral legend, and has found emergence in common usage amongst the elite fighting denizens of Azeroth. Taken literally, the phrase "Don't Stand in the Stupid" means "Only a fool of the highest caliber would stand in that rift/fire/cloud/acid/poison and thus kill himself and subsequently his group." Repeatedly standing in the "stupid" can cause any of the following symptoms:

* Loss of life.
* Illness
* Death
* Removal from the Group
* The Ire and disrespect of your group/guild/realm/the universe.

Be a dear, and "Don't Stand in the Stupid".
You may be reading this, asking yourself, "How can I contribute to this wonderful page?". Well, you can do the following:
* Add an image to the wiki containing a screenshot of the stupid from a fight that you should not stand in. Make sure you have the stupid in frame, and crop the image down so that the stupid plus a small buffer of space can be clearly seen.
* Add the image to this page in under a 2nd level heading (starting and ending with 2 equal signs) named after the instance of raid the fight is in, and a 3rd level heading of the boss in question. See Ulduar and Razorscale for an example above.
* Alternately, you can e-mail your submissions to [mailto:josh.schneider@gmail.com Raajin] and he'll be a good troll and post them for ya.
Reinyanhttps://wiki.aie-guild.org/index.php?title=Don%27t_Stand_In_The_Stupid&diff=7938Don't Stand In The Stupid2009-12-16T18:14:35Z
Reinyan: Added the Gallery of Stupid section as well as the Contribute Section.

The Blizzard Authenticator and the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator are optional tools for securing your World of Warcraft account with a second factor of authentication.

What Is It?
The Blizzard Authenticator is a physical key fob while the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator is a mobile phone application that generates an 8 digit code that is entered after entering your World of Warcraft Password. This second factor of authentication helps to secure your account from being hacked.

I change my password frequently, I don't need one.
Are you sure? Brute force attacks are more common then you might think. In the time between password changes, a hacker could get in your account. With the ever changing authentication code, you won't have to worry about that.

What's in it for me?
Besides security of your account, you also get a cute little Core Hound Pup. [Core Hound Pup Image]

How bad is getting hacked, really? Its just a game, and Blizzard can replace everything right?
If you are hacked, the process for restoring your character to its default state can take weeks. You'll first need to contact Blizzard to verify your account (as most hacks result in the account being locked out), change your password, and unlock your account. Once this is done, you'll need to login to each character you have and take inventory of what's missing. You'll then need to submit a GM Ticket with a list of the missing items from each character for them to restore... and then you wait. The ticket will be escalated from a GM to a specialized team. That team will investigate your situation, and once verified, will mail you your items and gold back.

# This process can take 2 or more weeks depending on many factors including holidays, how many hacks are occurring, etc.
# You may not get all items back. Some items or gold amounts may not be restored.
# During this time, its likely you've been cleaned out... no armor, no money, no mana-replenishing drinks, nothing.

Guild Policy
There isn't one. Alea Iacta Est does not require any of its guild members of any rank to have an authenticator.

(Wyndgem Writer's Note) However, I strongly encourage everyone to get one for security of a guild member's own account.

Shouldn't Guild Officers be required to have an authenticator?
The argument of Guild Officers being required to have an authenticator has been made to primarily protect the guild bank. The counter argument is: Have you seen our guild? Alea Iacta Est is one of the largest guilds in the game. With the number of people, especially the number of generous people, if a Guild Officer's account is hacked and the guild bank is emptied, the bank would be refilled in no time.

What about the Guild Master?
Focus
GUP started as a raid group for Gruul's Lair and Magtheradon in TBC. After patch 3.0.0, we killed a handful of bosses on Mt Hyjal and in the Black Temple. With the introduction of WotLK, we had decided to concentrate with 25-man Heroic Naxxramas to gear up members for further 25-man raids in Northrend. As of May 2009, we have been focusing on Ulduar.

The typical GUP participant has good sense of humor, likes an eclectic soundtrack for raiding, and prefers an organized but low-stress approach to raiding.

Raid Times
The normal start time for our weekly raid is Friday at 10pm and Sunday at 9pm(server time). Raid invites and summons start 15 minutes before raid 'go' time. You are expected to be at the instance by raid time - watch the raid warning for any change to the scheduled location (i.e. VoA when we control Wintergrasp).

Participation
* Reservations will be done through the In-Game Calendar Invite system. Both main and alt members are expected to accept or decline, unfortunately Blizzard has yet to implement 'maybe', please respond on the side of caution.

* Preference will be given to primary members followed by alts.

* If you accept the raid invite and do not show up within 10 minutes of raid start without notification, Raid Leaders will begin searching for a replacement from alts who have accepted the invite or swapping around off-specs.

* If you repeatedly accept the invite and don't show, or come late, your roster spot will be given up at the Raid Leaders' discretion. Exceptions are also decided upon by the Raid Leaders.

Loot Rules
Looting will be set to Master Looter and bidding restricted to the class guidelines given by WoW Loot. If a piece of loot drops that can benefit your class and spec you will receive priority as per the site. We are using the Suicide Kings method of loot distribution.
We think this is a fair method that encourages players to return each week.
We use the KSK addon to manage our SK lists, BUT is not necessary for raid team members to have this addon.
We have three loot lists "Guppers Main", Guppers Off-spec" and "Guppers Tier".

All raid team members can bid on loot, stand-ins as well as regular members.

Etiquette
We have few rules, just to keep things fun and moving along...

* PUNCTUALITY: We strive to start on time, this is essential. We understand unexpected conflicts, but keep in mind you have 24 other people counting on you who are also working professionals, parents, or students as well who have scheduled a time for raiding within their busy schedules.

* BOSS FIGHTS: We do a lot of joking around during down time and trash mobs, but during boss fights talking will be kept to a minimum and only boss fight related matters will be discussed. The most overlooked keys to boss fights are concentration and calm; with this rule we hope to down bosses easier (which is fun for everyone).

* WIPES: It happens--when it does, we need to release, regroup and rebuff quickly to get another shot at the boss. Often, we only need to make a small adjustment to the fight. So everyone knows when it is an official wipe, we will use our code phrase: "Banana Hammock".

Add-ons
We require the following add-ons.

* Omen or Diamond Threat Meter
* Deadly Boss Mods or Big Wigs
Reinyanhttps://wiki.aie-guild.org/index.php?title=Fall_2009_Craft_Fair&diff=6638Fall 2009 Craft Fair2009-10-19T13:58:51Z
Reinyan: Setting up initial page.

So, you want to create an AIE Podcast Segment like OldManFranks, Bouvi, and Wyndgem? You don't really have know how on how to make a good one? Let me say this up front, it's really not that hard technically speaking. Let me go through showing you the levels of the different types of production of an AIE Podcast Segment.

Equipment
For the technology, all you really need is 3 things:

* A Computer
* A Microphone
* Editing Software

If you're in AIE, you play WoW, you have a computer, so that's taken care of.

While you might have a microphone built into your computer (which is ok) I do suggest to get a headset like this one I bought from Amazon. You may also already have one for using AIE Vent, but if you do need to buy one, don't worry about getting an expensive one, just one that works. I recommend to make sure it has a USB interface for a little better quality. You could also get a professional microphone like a Heil PR40 Professional Microphone and an M-Audio Fast Track US44010 USB Audio Interface, but that's probably a little much. Go with the headset, you can thank me later.

Do you have a Mac? You're all set. I do my segment, Achievementology, in Garageband. It's easy, it's good, it works.

Do you have a Windows, Mac, or Linux machine? Audacity is your friend and it's free. In order to get your recording into an MP3 file with Audacity, you will need to download and install the LAME MP3 Encoder. There are instructions and links to that on the Audacity Website.

Scripting
Write a script. It's not as hard as you think it is and we're not expecting you to write the greatest prose or anything. You're just writing out what you say so that when you do get to recording you're not stumbling over yourself trying to think of the words you want to use. OMF, Bouvi and Wyndgem all write scripts and, at least in Wyndgem's case, they still stumble over their words. The segments are much smoother when you know what you're going to say, word for word. Also, practice, practice, practice. Read through your script a couple of times out loud and practice your pronunciation. Your goal is to avoid as many umms, ahhs, errs, and dead air. A script will also help you keep your pace. You don't want to be going to slow and bore your audience and you don't want to go too fast.

A script, however, won't work as well when you're doing an interview. In the case of an interview, you should have your questions written out and ready but otherwise, feel free to just go with the flow.

Recording
Once you have your equipment working and your script written and you've practiced a few times, hit record and start talking. Don't stop. Just keep going if you make a mistake. Go back in your script a little before your mistake and keep going. The mistakes can be taken out later. Just cut out the bad parts after you're done and close the gaps.

Editing
I'd like to say there are 3 Levels of difficulty for making a podcast segment

# Basic
# Intermediate
# Advanced

Basic
Basic is just that, you just cut out the bad parts, close the gaps, export as an MP3 and send it in. All your segment is of you talking, no music or effects or anything. Is this bad for a segment? Heck, no! Just check out Focus Magic that OldManFranks records. It's one of the best segments and all he has is his content. For a bonus, feel free to go into your recording and cut out any stumbles or interruptions to provide a well paced segment.

Intermediate
Intermediate recording adds in extra elements into your segment and some more advanced editing. This level could also include multi person segments and interviews as it adds the level of difficulty of recording a Skype call or something similar. The most common addition to a segment is music. Music is either used as intro and outro music or background music. Anytime you are speaking and you have music at the same time, make sure that the music is not too loud that it covers your voice. When trying to figure out the levels, try to err on the side of the music being too quiet then too loud. The important part of your segment is what you have to say, the music is just gravy. When selecting the music you're going to use, please make sure it is appropriate to the pacing of your program. Wyndgem recently used some techno music for his Naxxaramas Achievements. This music was fast but matched the pacing of his segment. Delalian and Modum use more mellow music under their Ebon Hold segment as the pacing is not as fast. In addition to music, sound effects may be use as well, but don't go overboard.

Advanced
Honestly, there's not much to say about an advanced podcast segment that hasn't already been said for intermediate and basic recording. The difference is added effects to voices, precise editing techniques, manipulation of several audio tracks, more use of sound effects and great sound quality. Bouvi's UI Clinic is close to this but I have to give the gold medal to Darrell the Tip Giver's Tip of the Week.

Honestly, we don't expect anyone to submit a segment of Advanced level to the AIE podcast, so don't think you have to shoot for the moon when doing your segment. Just do the level you're comfortable with and enjoy doing. I'd rather listen to an AIE podcast of a series of Basic Level segments that people enjoyed doing then a whole bunch of Advanced level that are bad.

Submitting
Your final step is submitting your segment. This is the easy part. While you could just email it to [mailto:podcast@aie-guild.org podcast@aie-guild.org], file size restrictions may cause it not to work. We recommend using YouSendit.com. If your file is too big for Yousendit, it's probably too long of a segment. You might want to cut it down. Otherwise, you'll need to find another site to upload it to and send in the link to it.

HOW IT STARTED
NAVY SEALS!!! Began as a regular heroic group formed by Modum, Malanti, Kaelthrax, and Belisama. We got our namesake from Kaelthrax's love of the "Adventures with Bob and Steve" Splinter Cell Machinima, with special focus on the navy seals episode. He began shouting NAVY SEALS!!! and randomly running into combat testing the wits of Modum, Malanti, and Belisama, and really training us to become a better crew. Eventually as we began clearing those with ease we dabbled in raiding and eventually some of us had joined raiding groups for 10 and 25 man content. In time, we decided that we'd like to form our own 10 man group, and thus NAVY SEALS!!! was born.

We are a group of committed, punctual people, who will have a blast taking down some 10 man raiding content. No experience required, just a little decent gear. We'll get you up to speed really fast, both in terms of gear and experience. We're very much a learn by doing group.

We are focused on fun and accomplishment... which means we have our eyes on completing all 10 man content while having a great time.

We will stay and always will be a 10 man group, so that you will be free to join whichever 25 man groups you choose if you are interested in doing that.
FULL MEMBERS-
Full Members are those which will run every night and have a guaranteed spot as long as they are able to run.

ALTS-
Alts are understood to be only fillers, and will run only when one of the full members can not run. We actively encourage alts to find full-time raiding groups that they can fit in with and run more consistently with as well. The role of alt was built for people who are unable to find a regular group and just want to get some experience and have a chance at some great gear while looking for a group or who can't commit to a regular group.
Because we are going to keep a “lean” group, your attendance is very important. If you can’t make a night regularly we will find a filler for that night.

Also, honesty is important. If you can’t make it let us know in advance, this ensures that we will be able to find a replacement so that we will not have to start the raid late.

Of course, we are understanding of emergencies, and your personal life should always come first.

Content Decisions
- To decide on what to run, we will use a democratic voting process, and the winner of the vote will be what we run.

- TBD Method of Voting (i.e. Whispers to Modum or Open in Raid Chat)

Learn By Doing Philosophy
Learn by doing means that we believe that we’re all here to play the game and not to simply talk about it. Our leaders have been through all the current end game content and will fill you in with < 5 Minute Briefs before each boss if necessary (If not, a ready check will be issued and we’ll start right away). Once in the fight directions will be given. In case of a wipe all adjustments will be discussed during the run back, rezzing, and rebuffing so that as soon as we are all back up to full strength we’ll give it another shot.

Targeting Order
1. Skull

2. X

3. Star

4. Circle

CC= Blue Square

Looting
Modum will be master looter, we will roll on gear in the the following order...

- Primary Specs (No wins yet for the raid)

- Primary Specs (Who have already won something in the raid)

- Off Spec gear

- DE

Research
Research is based upon your discretion. If you’re a person who learns by reading up more then by all means do it. If not, and you learn better through in combat directions then rely upon that.

Also, BigWigs or Deadly Boss Mods is recommended but not required.

Etiquette
We have a few rules at the moment, more will be amended based upon group member needs...

PUNCTUALITY

- Since we will start and stop on time, this is essential. We completely understand unexpected personal life conflicts, but always keep in mind you have 9 other people counting on you who are also working professionals, parents, or students as well who have scheduled a time for raiding within their busy schedules.

BOSS FIGHTS

- We will be doing a lot of joking around during down time and trash mobs, but during boss fights talking will be kept to a minimum and only boss fight related matters will be discussed.

- We have found the most often overlooked keys to boss fights are concentration and calm, and with this rule we hope to down bosses easier (which is fun for everyone).

EATING ON VENT

- We understand that people are busy and have to eat while playing the game, but please swallow before pushing the PTT button, no one wants to hear you chew.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

- Talk directly to the person first, if you are mature enough to play this game, you should be mature enough to work out problems with other members.

- If you can not resolve a conflict with a member or if the problem is with the way in which the group operates report it to Modum.

TRACK RECORD
The following table shows our ongoing progress in the 10-man encounters in Northrend . An integer value indicates the number of attempts made against a boss. An 'X' indicates a successful kill, an 'F' indicates no kill.

Interests
Buxley is a shaman who is outstanding in his field, at least until the middle of morning, in which case he usually comes in from the field to start getting work done. Buxley is an observer of all things, and prides himself on coming up with answers to many of life's most puzzling questions, such as strange buffs that mysteriously appear, quests, or even the recent zombie invasion.

Buxley enjoys finding rocks, looking at rocks, listening to rocks, and sometimes smelting, melting, and pelting rocks. Buxley is an occasional engineer, and hopes to one day make his own traveling devices so he can look for more rocks.

The Running of the Beef is an event that was started by Thyatira. In the event, participants are instructed to roll a new level 1 player of the chosen race. Each character should have a name matching the theme of the run, and should join the guild created for the run. The goal is to run from the starting area of that race to a predetermined location. The first one there wins first prize, second there gets second prize, and so on. The event has been a favorite of many guild members.

Denalian is a Blood Elf Death Knight, and Cohort of Alea Iacta Est

Description
"Before you stands a rather imposing visage of a Death Knight. Although he breathes like most living things nearby him, he does not emanate the warmth that most living do. His armor is dull, scratched, and dented; covered in dried blood with highlights of fresh blood. The acrid stench of decay surrounds him, and is detectable to the average person at about 2-3 feet away. His face appears to have lost the ability to smile, and his eyes droop as if he's not seen sleep in years. His eyes feel as though they are upon you, even though his gaze is turned forward, toward the horizon."

Character History
Very little is known, even to Denalian, about his past. From the pieces he has picked up, he knows that he was once a High Elf warrior and Farstrider, along with a female High Elf of unknown importance. They were mobilized with the Farstrider forces, under the command of Ranger-General Sylvanas Windrunner to protect the Elf Gates from the invading Scourge force. Denalian fought to defend the second, inner Elf Gate; but at some point during the battle was slain.

At some point after the Scourge's successful campaign against the High Elves, Denalian and several other High Elf warriors were re-vivified as agents of the Scourge, Death Knights, at the order of Dar'Khan Drathir. It was Dar'Khan's plan to demoralize the remaining forces of the High Elves by using their own heroes against them in battle.

Denalian, unable to resist the influence of the Lich King, helped to wipe out the Scarlet Enclave during his training at Acherus, but seceded with the Knights of the Ebon Blade following the events at Light's Hope Chapel. Separated from the influence of the Scourge, Denalian tries to keep himself in constant action, as each given quest is a temporary purpose for his continued existence. Since he is technically undead, he does not need to sleep, but does meditate from time to time. Meditation is a daunting task, however, as he is racked with guilt and haunted by the spirits of those whom he harmed in service to the Scourge.

Now a "free agent" of the Horde, Denalian has trained himself for two specific goals:
*Find the woman from his memories, the only person he can remember and the only person who may be able to tell him who he was.
*Find and destroy the Lich King, ending the Scourge threat once and for all.

Connections to other Characters
* Reinyan - Denalian has met and spoken at length with Reinyan. Although Reinyan did not know him prior to his death, and therefore, cannot fill in missing links to his past; he does remain an important part of Denalian's attachment with the living and more specifically Alea Iacta Est.
* Raajin - Although a more recent acquaintance of his, Raajin has been steadily been in written dialog with Denalian on the matters of guilt, redemption, and responsibility. Through discourse and discussion, the two have begun to explore their own feelings, and grow toward some reconciliation with their lives and past deeds.

In time, we decided that we'd like to form our own 10 man group, and thus NAVY SEALS!!! was born.
And yes, we realize that's Bill Paxton in Aliens and not Navy Seals...
GROUP CHARTER
Mission
We are a group of committed, punctual people, who will have a blast taking down some 10 man raiding content. No experience required, just a little decent gear. We'll get you up to speed really fast, both in terms of gear and experience. We're very much a learn by doing group.

We are focused on fun and accomplishment... which means we have our eyes on completing all 10 man content while having a great time.

We will stay and always will be a 10 man group, so that you will be free to join whichever 25 man groups you choose if you are interested in doing that.

Times
Tuesday (10:00 pm-12:00 am EST)

Wednesday (10:00 pm-12:00 am EST)

Thursday (10:00 pm-12:00 am EST)

Attendance

1. Skull

2. X

3. Star

4. Circle

CC= Blue Square

Reinyanhttps://wiki.aie-guild.org/index.php?title=Category:Guild_Events&diff=1329Category:Guild Events2009-03-24T12:54:57Z
Reinyan: Linked this category to Guild Info
